i got a tip from a friend and snatched this LQ4 up before it was sent back for a core. it came out of an 07 GMC 3/4 ton work truck with 128K miles. truck was driven to the dealership, with the complaint stating it doesn't have the power that it use to have, so asphault company writes check and gets their truck a new motor. i payed the core charge and got a great starting point for my truck.
this will be a long build, because i want to do it right, and have the supporting mods done by the time i get ready to put it in my truck. i am building it to be NA, with about 9.8-10.2 cr. i have already been on the phone with richard at West Coast Cylinder Heads to P&P my heads. i am looking into getting forged pistons, a GT2-3 cam, and also a tb stall.
any advice or tips would be greatly apprieciated. this is my first Gen 3 build and i hope it is as good as some of the other trucks on this site.
