    Polish Aluminum

    anyone have any tips on doing this? i have some heads im going to polish so they look almost chromish... anyone?
    also what should I clear them with , if anything, to keep the shine?

    depending on how rough the casting process left them ull need to get them evened out first(prob gonna need something pretty coarse to do this). once thats done u can sand them down with like 400 grit then like 1000 grit then move to some steel wool. then u can move to polishing compound and buff it out. thats what i did and it took a while but they look nice. dremel is ur best friend for sure tho. mine r like mirrors now. as far as clearing id search for a heat resistant clear coat. idk how ur gonna make it stick tho... also this takes quite some time as well. i used a wire brush to remove old paint so it took a lil longer on some areas since that left it pretty rough.

    the heads are coming to me already bead blasted.. that should help

    midwest, i have a REAL GOOD kit i got for my wheels on camaro...i have a drill/buffer pad/ rouge...i'd just mild wetsand them and use that, works awesome.

    My buddy has it all now, but I can grab it tonight, let me know when you want to meet up, i'll let ya borrow it.




    that rear tire i did in about 15 minutes, after wheels had been sitting outside for about 10 years.
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum
