    The only reason to not run synthetic on a high mileage vehicle is because it's thinner than conventional oil for the same given weight. Over 100k, just switch to 10w-30 synthetic and you should be good. The oil doesnt cause any problems other than possibly leaking a bit, whereas the conventional would still be held back by the gaskets,etc etc. Mobil 1 in all my vehicles for the last decade, never had engine trouble in a single one. Also, I run heavier 10w-30 in the summer, 5w-30 in the winter. But most of you guys dont have a real winter like I do, so just use the heavier synth

    what about the synthetic cokeing in turbos i run shell rotella 15-40 the shop i work at reccomends rotella to our customers with turbo mustangs so i started running it and have noticed that my oil has been cleaner since the first two oil changes my filter was very dirty now every 2500 miles i change the oil and it looks to be much cleaner

    synthetic has a higher breakdown threshold than conventional does

    i swear ive hear rotella and delo have more cleaning products in them for the diesel use
