    4.8 to 5.3

well im sure its somewhere on the site but i tried searching and couldnt find much at all. i have a 04 silverado 1500 with a 4.8. my question is how hard would it be to switch it to a 5.3. i did some reasearch and it should be the same block it looks like. so what all would be needed to swap it up

If you are going to go through the trouble, I would swap to a 6.0 instead. Not enough gain to be worth it just going to the 5.3.

If you're set on it, then you could always swap out the rotating assembly of the 4.8 with the 5.3 since they are both from the same block. Still not worth it IMO...

no your 4l60e will bolt right up, may last a little while pending on driving habits. but once you finish this other build you mention then it would be wise to go to a 4l80e

going to a 6.0 is the same as if youre going to a 5.3 as for as swapping the 2
