So you're tellin me that your 219/223 .603 cam is going to dominate any other cam ever put in a 4.8? Why? Do you know? In what way is going to "dominate"?
The megadeath and the trex may be a little big for the stock 5.3...for some. I run a G5x3 which is a 236/240 .615 112lsa in mine. But I also run higher compression with 4.56 gears and 3800-4000 stall
for a 6.0 I've read lots of good reviews on the trex cam. Pulls like no other up top.
I'm not tryin to steer you away from a custom grind because I'm sure they may have a slight advantage. But they seem to be kind of the "fad" for the moment so that when asked "hey man what cam you runnin in that thing?" you can proudly say "oh it's a custom grind by bumpstick Willie". People ran off the shelf cams for years with great results.
In the end, if you can save a $100 or so by finding a used cam in the classifieds , do some research on it and if you like what you see, buy it. With that being sad, my cam is for sale
