The title of the topic pretty much says it. Have any of you who use LS1 fans in your truck ever done any towing or hauling after you installed them? I am contemplating buying a set, but I read one retailer stating that they do not recommend using them in full size trucks because they were not adequate for towing or hauling. Also, has anyone run into trouble using the LS1 fans with the standard 105 amp alternator?

I have the 05 fans from GM and tow a 5000 pound boat all over Austin. Mine cools just fine. I did upgrade the alternator.

Have had no heat problems towing in conjunction w/ LS1 fans. However, i modified my e-fan wiring so that both fans run 100% for PCM temp trigger. I'm also in the upgraded alternator club, running a 130A OE model. The 105A alt was not handling the load very well.

I payed $110 for 130 amp rebuilt by AC/Delco. The parts man would not give me a 145 amp and we had a talk till I got his price for the 130 amp.
