    ls6 intake/226-226 112 cam install

Alright guiys just as the title reads i just recently installed a ls6 intake and a 226/226 112+2 cam. I finished the installation last night at about 10:00pm crank it up turns on right away, so i go drive it around. as im driving it around it runs fine excepte it dies at every stop light/sign which i expected.

I pull into a gas station to get gas turn it off get gas and then it wont start.... the engine turns over and i think i hear the fuel pump engaging when i put the keys in the on position. I sat there for awhile(around an hour) tried it again and what do you know it started back up again. So i drove it home went to bed. Now this morning i turned it on and it started but soon died after words.

Can anyone tell me where to start or what to look for i dont want to always have to worry about my truck starting or not starting

    Thanks alot, Brandon

No i didnt get a retune yet im waiting for one right now. But would that really make it so it doesnt run at all?? it ran perfectly right after i put the cam in?

Also another thing that started happening was everytime i come to a complete stop and then start to accelerate my radio shut off and then turns right back on?? i feel like this is a grounding issue but ive wiggled all the grounds over and over.

    Update!

Alright i started doing some more test, now tell me if im right. When the key is in the on position the fuel rail should build up pressure right? well i did that and check the pessure connector on the fuel rail with a small knife and fuel only driped out barley shouldnt it squirt out at high pressure?

So does anyone know where the ground for the fuel pump is?

Did you check the fuel pump relay in the engine bay fuse box? Have someone cycle the key and you should feel/hear it click....

Just have to look at them and see, the fuel pump relay is prolly labled FP Relay. On my buddies Equinox the starter relay is the same as the fuel pump relay. He was having issues with it like yours (started fine but would die), and we switched the two around and then wouldn't start. New relay and problem solved....

alright update i removed the fuel rail from the intake and cranked the engine over a couple of times to see if they are shoot gas when i looked there was puddles by every injector im not expert but it seemed like they were working fine. but when ever i check the pressure checker on the fuel rail the fuel just bearly drips out... does anyone know what the fuel pressure should be when the key is in the on position?

also i dont think its my fuel pump because i can hear it whining when i turn the key to the on position i just have to get out of my truck to hear it.

Fuel pressure should be around 58psi. Get a gauge and check it. Did you use your existing fuel rail or a LS1 style? I am wondering if you swapped in a bad FPR.

The tune could def cause the not running issues after it warms up, but so could a FPR.

Ok well its definatly not 58psi when the key is turned to the on position, i reused my old fuel rail and it worked perfectly fine before and after the setup.
