    tranny shift point setting question?

    i know its only a hypertech progamer 3 but what should i set the shift points 2 ive had it a while but never asked i have them set all at +3 mph any ideas untill i get the real tune.
    06 GMC 2500HD EC/SB 6.6 LBZ allison 6 speed, 4" MPRP turbo back, QS2 on the 70HP tune

    it doesnt really matter when your beside a hp tuned truck, believe me i have my diablo tuner of my 2000 x cab new in a box only used it once at the track. hp tunes rule!

    Set it about 200-300 RPM above your peak power point. For your 6.0L I would set the shift point around 5600 RPM.

    Hahahahahaha I agree with max for once. Stock cam has no point going to 6000+ 5600 is about right.

    it only increases them in 2mph incremints any ideas

    the rev limiter at 5600?

    Hitting the rev limiter won't force a shift. You're actually losing power if you hit the limiter. Do a WOT blast and watch the tach when the tranny shifts. Then adjust the mph variable to hit the desired RPM shift point.

    oooo ok i get it now icrease shift points so that they all shift at 5600rpm right

    What rpm is it shifting at now? And yeah power falls off after 5500-5600 with stock cam and intake.
