ok everyone. im replacing the water pump in my 03 SSS
I was checking out the situation before hand and noticed this
its at the top of the water pump, right under the TB.
Now, on my replacement pump, I do not have such a hole..
can anyone advise?

Generally that kind of thing can change when it is a cast part, because engineers are always looking to make the casting and casting process more efficient. If it does not fit then it would be a problem, but i think that the replacement water pump manufacturer found a better way to make the casting, plus with continuous shapes they are much stronger than castings with pointed or sharp edges.

no i was talking about that bolt that faces backward.. turns out its a plate that covers the impeller.. new pumps dont have that.. i got the job done.
