    06 silverado 5.3/ 03 gmc savana 6.0

    right now i have a 06 silverado 1500 with a 5.3 and a built 4l60e trans.
well today the trans went out for the 3rd time.
i found a 03 gmc savana 3500 van with a 6.0l thats hit lightly in the front but is very cheap.
does anybody know what trans that van would have in it and what all would be involved in putting the 6.0l and whatever trans it has into my silverado.
    thanks

That's an LQ4 I bet. Not optimal for NA. The compression is pretty low on them.

3500 should have an 80e. It should be just remove and replace one for the other and have the PCM retuned for the swap. You might have to get the driveshafts married to each other to work and the crossmember from the van may not work but its worth trying.

put a set of 5.3l #706 heads on that lq4, that thing will make plenty of compression, and the dished pistons will give you a smidgen more room for a cam.by the way, 5.3l heads on that engine makes about 11.2:1 compression, thats some horse power making stuff right there

True story. Just use the LQ4 shortblock an you'll have an even better runner
