    New motor on friday!

well all ive had a few issues with my 5.3 making some strange tapping noises. felt like it was the lifters so i changed them out and its still the same, i have no exhaust leaks and ive checked the pushrods for bends, springs are great, i have no idea what it could be, started making the noise when i accidently did a 3rd to 4th shift but stuffed in into 2nd at about 80 when i first built the truck and wasnt used to the really tight shifts. ever since then its been making the noise so on friday i am picking up a 2004 6.0 out of an ss silverado with 40k miles on it. so as for now im selling off my internal parts on the 5.3 and putting it back to stock and will probably sell it as it for a few hundred bucks. only has 57k miles on it. as far as the 6.0 im going to have to do some reading, i want a pretty radical motor as its a weekend driver usually. im hoping in the 400hp range and thinking a 75-150 shot as i hear these lq9's love nitrous. im pretty pumped to get it but it wont be until next spring until its running. ill be selling my whipple supercharger kit as well. thanks guys just figured id share the excitement.

No doubt. You truck would be a perfect candidate for a FAST 90/90, pulleys, worked 243 heads, an MS3 cam, and a Spec stage 3 clutch. With a nice Live Tune and some spray, it will be ridiculous!

now when your saying the fast 90/90 your talking the 90mm tb and the intake manifold right? got a link to where i can get one so i can do some reading? as far as the heads go you think im better off with the 243's over the l92's? problem is i cant get a live tune where i live no one is capable of it... and im not driving to texas haha. i want something really nutty on motor like 400-440 hp range, nice lumpy idle, something that really pulls your face off to like 6500 rpms i already have a ls7 clutch kit ill stay with that till its junk. but as far as spray goes ill probably only do a 75-100 dry shot.

Haha I can't blame you there... it's going to run really strong with that setup. Especially with that t-56
