Alright, my truck has a 87/89 dual tuned PCM from Allen in it... Normally, I fill up with regularole 87 octane gas, but on my last fill up I decided to get crazy and use 89. Well, after I filled up with 87 tonight, I checked my MPG, and it went up 2 MPG while it had the 89 octane in it! Is that normal, or just a coincidence?

using the higher grade fuel will allow the pcm to run a higher timing value at times. a lot is how it was driven also.

I'm averaging 19.5 after the cam install and running the 93 tune. Stock I could barely average 16.5 on a good day! This is driving about a 75 highway/25 city mix.

I have the 87/89 tune using 93 octane and got 20 driving through the mountains above 7000 feet. I used to get 17 on a great day before the tune.

Yeah.....having a heavy foot is kind of common place in Nelson Country....I keep my foot in it and still get better mileage, no complaints here!
