Well I ordered an older Unichip and harness for my WRX about 3 weeks ago. I received it in the mail yesterday and went to install it. Installation was a breeze and took close to 45 min as the car was a bit hot still and I had to intall an Automatic Boost Controller under the hood. I go for a test drive and my damn AT Oil Temp light begins flashing like a crazed mo-fo. I think to myself "how the hell can this be as the vehicles has been sitting for close to 2 hours" so I continue on and get into full boost in 2nd gear and the vehicle pulls much smoother and harder from 3500-redline with that chip. Power is far more linear now also.

Yet that light is still flashing. So I call Turbo XS this morning and that Unichip and harness are for a M5 transmission and I am running an A4. Basiaclly what happens is my damn AT Oil light stays on and flashes as that Unichip and Harness are made for the M5 transmissions.

That flashing light makes me nuts and I can't have that blinking all the time... So now I have to sell it and wait to pick up the UTEC computer.

    I'll keep you guys posted.

It isn't correct for it, apparently it keeps the trans from doing something....something I am not interested in finding out what.

So hell if I know what I am going to do, I was so damn ready for that boost in power. Now back to the ol'd drawing board.

So you liked what it did for the M5. I wonder what will happen with the right part. Let us know.

Paul...Oh yeah the pull was way different as it hit 2nd. Apparently the WRX's ar designed to only hit 10-12 psi in 1st gear...prolly to save the driveline. So when it hit 2nd the boost came up to ~16psi!

    I am torn between:

4" Downpipe - No turbo backpressure, lots of power, lower EGT's
Header and Uppipe combo - Header replaces manifold, catless uppipe to turbo decreases spool time by ~500rpms, greater top end pull from 4000-redline. Lower EGT's also.
UTEC - Correct new computer, fully usertunable, very trick.

All around the same price too.
