So last night after work on the way home I filled my truck up with 93octane ethonal. I normally dont use ethonal, but had to since I was far from home with an empty tank. Afterwards I come across a Stang and race him, so neddless to say I pulled to 6,000 rpms. No wierd sounds.
This morning I start my truck to go to work and I hear valvetrain noise on the passemger side motor. Normally my 6.0 is a little loud when cold, but this is way louder than normal. And normally the knocking noise goes away when I gain rpms. Now the ticking noise speeds up as I gain rpms.
What do I need to look at first? The motor is a 2001 LQ4 6.0 with stock vavletrain.
