you remove the hangers and then move them up the desired amount of drop, mark the whet the new holes need to be drilled, set the hanger out of the way, and then center punch the mark so the bit doesn't move while starting and drill. after you have the holes drilled then bolt the hangers back on in the new holes. easy as that. just make sure you have a good, sharp drill bit.
