It would only be .5" more on each side rather than 1" on the outside of the rim.

You're going to have a hard time finding any decent aluminum aftermarket rims with less than 4.5" of backspacing. If you do find some tell us all, because we are forced to run 16x10 rims with 4.5" of backspacing on our drag radials.

On a 285/75/16 you could run either an 8 or a 10. I've seen both done many many times and it looks good either way.

Personally I would stick with the 8" wide rims just because you can't find a 10" with less than 4.5" of backspacing and that will look a little silly with only 32.8" tires on the truck.
