    Anyone an electrical engineer?

I graduated from college in may, still looking for a "real" job, just curious if anyone here is one. What are some good companies to apply at? I don't mind moving. I think I've applied everywhere in the area (at least companies I found online using Google)

    Thanks!

I am an EE but I don't have my ear to the market. I worked in the field for 6 years building Nuk's for the gov't and left to run an insurance office. I hope something good comes along for you soon.

I am an EE student and have been looking up places. Check military bases and manufacturing companies such as lockheed and martin or boeing.

EE here too, but I haven't been in the field since 9/11....I hung around for a few more months afterwards when the SemiConductor industry's bottom fell out in Austin TX. Been building cars and trucks ever since....

I know one EE and he installs alarms systems occasionally. Real smart eccentric guy. Also has a degree in biology and something else.

I learned enough about electronics in the army to know it is beyond my ability. Good Luck with a job. Military bases and maybe some airline companys for the avionics side.

I see you're in IL, how close to Edwardsport, IN? Reason being, I've worked for Duke Energy the past 2 summers (I'm a Power Engineer), and they're building a new IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power plant there. I'm sure they'll be looking for engineering positions soon if not now. My brother is also a power engineer working for Bechtel as a Startup Electrical Engineer constructing power plants and is currently on a project in Oak Creek, WI. Anyways, the power industry is a great one to be in right now, so if you're interested I'd check that out... Good luck!

Sounds like an ongoing trend. Make sure that you REALLY wanna get into that industry. With the given economy, do what Chris said and go for companies who do work with/for governments; be it City, State, or Federal.

Also, might wanna try and get into something soon...cause bigger companies don't like to hire in the 4th quarter.
