    gettin a tune, need input

going to get my truck tuned as soon as i get my cam in.(hopefully this weekend) i wanted to make shure i got everything i need sorted out beforehand. also got a few questions before i go get it done.

    05 ecsb 4.8
    -mods
    volant cai with ram air
    bypass coolant through tb
    flowmaster 40 series
    transgo hd2 shift kit
    vette servo
    30,000gvw tranny cooler
changed from 3.23 to 3.42 gear (i'm going to 4.10 when i get a true trac)
    comp 218/224 .527/.532 on 112 ls6 springs and comp hardened 7.4's

so this i what i was thinking so far

    -93 tune
    -eliminate top speed limiter
    -raise shift points
    -change gear/tire size
-what does eliminating skip shift help?
    -how much TM to remove?
    -maybe lower fan activation temp?
-would it be worth changing to a lower temp thermostat?

i know i need a converter but its not in the budget yet. i was thinking the posi first since i already have the 4.10 gears. i been looking at circle d's. what stall should best suit my cam? i still occasionally tow so i don't want to go too high

    any suggestions are appriciated

If you have a stock tranny, keep 20% TM. Fan wont help unless you have a 160 stat. Converter will need a re tune. Posi, asap.

yea the tranny is stock so i figured to leave a little to prolong it for a while. and no more wot downshifts. not really looking for an excuse to rebuild it. lol

what kind of gains you get from the 160 stat? wheres the best place to get it? autozone?

also what about getting rid of the egr?

The 160 stat will just allow coolant to flow sooner and in theory keep the temps cooler (if fans are tuned for it). It may allow for a couple of degrees of timing advance for some extra hp. If you need one, let me know. I just bought one that I'm not going to be needing. They're cheap too. I only paid like $12 +shipping for mine.

New finding is 185* thermostat , says makes much better power than 160* and runs a little cooler as well .
Now what is a tune again?

Not sure of your year. If it's 04 or newer you can get a MR gasket 160* from Autozone for $13.49. If it's an 03, have them order part number 37960. It's the whole housing, 160* for $30
