Without knowing what is wrong with your current motor I would reccomend this. Although on average, these motors an go much longer.

If money is an issue I would just get a salvaged 5.3 with 50,000 miles or less and swap that in. These can be had for less than $1,000

If you want more power swap in a salvaged 6.0 LQ4. These can be had for $1,400 and less in my area. But it really comes down to money. If you want more power you are going to spend more money on motor mods, and supporting mods like trans work.

And just to let you know, if you plan on doing mods on a 5.3 you will still need to beef up that tranny, especially with 150,000 miles. It might be cheaper to get that level 3 from FLT.

Got mine from Denton County Auto Salvage. I was in a race with James Wood for it though...

Google DFW auto salvage and a few will pop up. Give them a call.

We use Denton County Auto Salvage here for used assemblies...usually for insurance jobs.

I would check LKQ too. I paid $255 for my 5.3 complete, no brackets/accessories or wiring. 110k from a 2002 tahoe, iron block/alum heads, 90 day warranty. put it into the JImmy for testing, 50psi oil pressure warm at idle. sounds good.
