    Yeah....that's the thing. He told me they made noise. I then asked him if they were Richmonds.

    The I started giving him diameter and spline count specs. Knowing that he's going to be leaving at 4000+ RPM on the 150 shot and DR's and the $1000 side job it would be to put quiet GM gears in it we decided to put the 9" in and sell the spindly stock one.

    The 9" would be nice & strong. My plans were for a Mosier 12 bolt setup. Wanted to keep it in the GM family.

    Yeah, I get ya. The 9" gives up a small amount of power with it's lower pinion centerline but it much easier to set up. The 9" and 12-bolt are about the same strength when beefed up, cost about the same, and weigh about the same. The Dana60 can be built stronger, is heavier and usually more costly, and is a PITA to set up.
