    so i got pulled over...

After having the 86 silverado only two days we decided we needed to go to the landfill and on the way home stop to get some extra keys made. Well the truck has a bad carb and if you let it idle even just at a light it will start to load up bad. Well leaving lowes i did a lil rev to clear it out so it wouldnt smoke traffic...well right after i did this and rolled past a few parked cars their sits a city cop. I roll by like normal and hop on the main road and he pulls me over. He tells me he pulled me over for two reasons 1. " Sounded like you missed a gear back there and reved pretty high" so i told him about the bad carb and me just buying it. 2. Was for no state inspection this is were he got kinda shitty with me. I just reminded him that i just bought it and even showed him the title and that i bought it from out of state (had wva plates on it when i got it) he told me most cops will not ticket for it but he was going to anyway. This was the first time we had the truck out in town too. Only reason i hadnt inspected it was because hadnt had time and hadnt had it long and the thing has no cats right now. Anyway so i went today to get it inspected knowning that it will not pass just so i can get the damn rejection sticker so we can finish moving this weekend. I took it to a local shop that is usualy pretty lenint about that kinda stuff but this time he threw it on the lift which was the first time he has ever put one of my vehicles up in the air. He didnt say anything about me having a marker light out but said everything was good but that it had no cat. :/ got home and ordered a 3in high flow cat and once we get settled in at the new place ill start redoing the exhaust. Gona go with long tubes custom 2.5in mandrel pipes into the single cat then y back out into two 2 1/2 pipes into my turbo mufflers and dump it before the axle. I may set it up where i can clamp and unclamp the cat on but im undecided.

you can weld in some dummy cats. I have an '85 my pride and joy next to my daughters I have headers straight to dual flowmasters dumped at the rear. I've had no problems getting state insp. is this big in every state or just some states?

In Texas it's not legal to put it on a lift for an inspection, in fact all inspectable items must be in clear view or they become non-inpsectable....HINT HINT. Can't remove a wheel cover to check for studs and lug nuts even though both are required....list goes on and on.
