Thread: what cam should i buy

    I have a 2500HD 6.0 4x4 and I tow about 5,000 to 6,000 pounds every now and then. Any way I'm try to get a good I idea of what kind of cam I should buy and who I should buy it from and where I could get it installed. Also what elas should I replace while I'm doing this.
    2500HD 6.0 - K&N filter, TB bypass, Ported and Polished TB, no cats, SD Tune BY Nelson, 42# injectors, STS, T-67 .96 A/R, @5psi Walbro 255lph, Air to Water Intercooler, coolingmist kit @ 6ghp
    CJ-7 - K&N, TBI 350, dana44 front locker, 9" ford rear spooled three link, 38.5" SS, bead locks,and tons more.

    hey buddy welcome. if it were me i wouldnt go above a 216-220-525-532-114 cam. either that one or a 212-218 high lift cams from comp cams. also stay in the114 lsa range as well for idle issues. either of these will work good as allen can tune for them really well. dont go above thses or you will have to get a stall and that alone will cause the tranny to run hot. also put ijn a supercooler from b&m. good luck.

    thanks for the info do you have any cule on the hp/tq agains for those cam and do you think that I would need to change out my springs

    Yeah you will need to change out the springs, a good set to consider would be the Comp 918's.
