AWD conversion slowed

i dont feel like throwing money at the gear swap for now... but what ive read that you can do is put the awd tube, on the front diffrent and or gut the Z71 engagement fork ,sping and gear shaft from out of there and just leave that other part unpluged...

Im tryin to find a decent tcase for cheap but havent found anything just yet...

gunna go to the dealer on monday and pick up a awd tube...

Why not just put it in 4WD then disconnect the actuator and the encoder then?

I could not determine that. I had to do a gear swap in the rear end right before my conversion so I could not test this idea. The binding could come from the transfer case.

Ummm....well.....sound? No. Would it bind in turns? Yes....but you'd feel it, not really hear it.

but in other words itll just be better if i swapped the tubes?
