    tow/haul button doesnt work

    well i noticed that my tow button doesnt work.i push it and nothing lites up at all.i noticed a couple times it came on by it self while driving.is this a common problem on these trucks and should i just order a new switch from gm?oh and ive got an 01 suburban 1500 with loads of miles mit e be important info lol.

    Most commonly one of the two small wires is broken near where the shift lever mounts to the column behind the rubber boot.

    what does the tow haul button do for the tranny
    i have a 2001 chevy did a 4.8 swap to a 6.0l with mahle pistons 10.5:1,eagle 6.125' h beams,232 238@50.595 598 lift on a 112lsa,243 heads,44lbs motec IIs,tuned by Nick D,it makes 402rwhp,@5000lbs w/ me in it 13.75@101mph on 22' wheels

    Replace the switch, comes with the lever. Simple job.
    2001 ECSB 4x4, 5.3, Radix, 3.0 pulley, VHP Trucker cam, 216/224 .551/.551 115 lsa, 1.8 Crane roller rockers, 4L65E, Yank SC3000, 3.73, Cal-Tracs, HPTuners.

    that i kno it takes the stress of the engine n throws it to the trans so if u have more power than stock under ur hood i wouldnt mess with it much on a stock trans

    It changes the shift points of your transmission, so it's not shifting up & down all the time with a heavy load. Usually has a lower RPM redline also.

    i guess ill have to get it fixed and find out how fun it is
