    Spare ECM for warranty

I want to get a Nelson tune done and cant wait for wife's warranty to run out. Can I just buy a spare already tuned ECM from him and save the original. If so how much would that cost me. Feel free to PM or chime in Allen. One other question...after reading on Nelson's site, u can get a more aggressive tune if you r willing to run 91 octane. Can you put that into additional HP numbers or can someone that has experience with both give some idea of how much you gain from doing so? Thanks

you will just have to pay a core charge to keep the stocker. I think its worth it to go with the 91 octane tune for the added security of the good fuel. Just my .02

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

i would look into 93. you can make up the MPG if you keep your foot out of it. some folks have seen a 3 MPG improvement with an NP tune. but remember, every truck is different

Get the highest octane tune you can for the fuel in your area. You'll be happier in the long run. You can usually pay the core charge to keep the original PCM. PM Mel for price.

yep, just pay the core charge, I just switch em out when I go to the dealer. Just dont forget to do it, cause then they can tell you have a tune, because nelson locks his tunes.

It never really goes to the dealer and dont plan on ever taking it, just a small security in case something really goes wrong, hell it has never been to a quick lube or anything for that matter. Thanks guys, now if I could just find out what a core costs, I am sure allen can get me one reasonably priced. Now if I could just get the time at home to have it done.
