    Torque Wrench

I want to get my dad a torque wrench for fathers day, and he commented on how he likes the Digital ones. Anyone think a mechanical one is better than a digital? Which brand should I look at? Craftsman?

the digital one's are nice but can get fustrating at times. since they do all kinds of things. but i do love just the regular sound of the mechanical click.

What would be more realistic, the 25-250ft lb 1/2" or the 20-150lb. 1/2 inch? He would only use it at home, you know shade tree mechanic

Since theres only 5fp diff. on the low side i'd get him the 25-250 and get him a snap-on or a mac, mac's are a little cheaper but still have the same warranty

ehh go big or go home lol!

i mean to me 150 isnt really that much and once you start getting to internals (main caps)you'll wish you went a little more plus anything below 25 ft lbs and i doubt your gonna break out a 1/2" drive anything..

...but dont take my word for it im a dumb diesel mechanic and was preloading wheel bearings this morning at 750 ft lbs
