    New times

I went to the CA Speedway this past Saturday and managed a 13.7 @ 96.11. I was pitted against a Subaru Evo that went 13.3 @ 107.45. I had him the whole way down the track then out of nowhere he passed me(like a nitrous hit from the movie Fast & Furious) to take the win. He either spun like crazy on the line or his turbo is slow to spool because his top end was very good but again he was about a car behind the whole time then past the 1/8 he was on my back bumper(could not see his because he was in my blind spot) then he sling shot passed me at the end of the track.

You can see that at the 1/8 mark I had him by 0.093(8.771 - 8.678) plus 0.15(.421 - .271 R/T) for .243. Then by the 1000 mark we were dead even but he ended up about two cars(0.2284) ahead. I needed a perfect light to beat him, lol.

Here is the run for comparison:

    R/T ........ .421 ....... .271
    60' ....... 2.161 ...... 1.920
    330 ...... 5.809 ...... 5.564
    1/8 ...... 8.771 ...... 8.678
    MPH .... 84.34 ..... 78.54
    1000 ... 11.272 .... 11.421
    1/4 ..... 13.384 .... 13.762
    MPH .. 107.45 ...... 96.11

I also found a video of me racing that day on YouTube and of course it is of me loosing to a supercharged Mustang.

    Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohn4d...layer_embedded

And here is the run for comparison:

    R/T ........ .050 ....... .265
    60' ....... 1.940 ...... 1.990
    330 ...... 5.620 ...... 5.291
    1/8 ...... 8.756 ...... 7.979
    MPH ... 78.08 ...... 92.22
    1000 .. 11.515 .... 10.281
    1/4 .... 13.876 .... 12.224
    MPH ... 95.31 .... 116.24

What all is done to yours? I read the 408 at the bottom of your sig. Surely if it has 408 it can turn better then a 13.7...
By the way no shame in losing to a SC mustang in a full sized truck... in my opinion.

Yes, it should be faster. It is a low(currently 8.8:1) cr motor built for boost that still has the stock air box, intake, exhaust manifolds, muffler etc. I am having to take it easy off the line or it will spin half way down the track. I would remove the spare, tailgate and bumper but as it is I have no traction.

How soon till you will be adding a turbo to the set-up? I can see not wanting to get a aftermarket intake or manifolds being a turbo is in your future.

Not bad at all... right along the lines of SCIV's old truck that ran exact time with low compression 408. Add the turbo and some traction and run a 10.7! Good luck!

Exactly why I haven't put on a CAI or headers, especially since it will be rear mount, ala STS.

Did he go from a 13.7 to a 10.7? If so, how much boost? I am hoping for 11's with 15 PSI but would love to be in the 10's even if I have to go to 24+ PSI, lol. With my traction problems I doubt I could go any lower than high 11's.

When I had the original +40K shock on including one broken front shock it would squat and shift the weight back for better traction but I replaced the worn out shocks with Beltech's and I think they are too stiff. If you look at the video you can see that the truck does not squat at all during take-off.

I found another video of one of my runs and this time I win, lol.

I will try to see if I can find an old video with the worn out shocks for comparison.

On that last video I am the 3rd race which is about 1:36 into it.

BTW, a friend gave me the following site so I could adjust my times since that track has an elevation of 1110 ft and the DA was around 2400 ft.

DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator - DragTimes.com

Using that info my corrected time is 13.372 @ 98.979 not that it's any consolation.
