I got my new LS6 cam and springs today and I checked the dia. of the new springs vs. the old LS1 springs and it looks like the new springs are about .050 larger. The spring seats may accommodate this larger size but I am not sure and do not want to do any machine work. Does anyone know if these will work?

Hey man sounds great!! I promise you won't be disapointed I just got back form driving mine around the block it burns the tires at will. This is the most kick ass engine GM has ever made with out a doubt(except for maby the 405HP LS6)!!

    badass Ron!!

sounds like you're making real good progress. that thing is going to be a different beast once you're done.

keep us updated, sounds fun. the rest of the parts to swap out should be pretty easy.

btw, how did you remove the engine, with the trans, adjustable puller? just wondering

    good luck,

I pulled the engine and trans together and it was pretty tough, the engine is stuffed a little under the dash. I looped a chain about midway of the engine, bolted to the header bolt holes and I had to push down on the back of the trans while a buddy operated the cherry picker.

i got one of those adjustable chains, that kind of helped some, but the device hits the firwall and gets in the way.
i should be pulling a 4.8L soon, and i plan on attatching it sideways, so i can make it fit better, then attatching a tie strap to the front of the engine and to the top of the chain.

then i can adjust if sideways and back and forth, just a thought.

    keep us updated, sounds badass

I just got a digital camera and have taken some pics. I don't know if the page below can be opened and if it can't I may need some help, the engine in the bag is the LS1, the other is the 4.8, the longer trans is the T56 (6gear) and the truck looks black but is dark blue.
