Trying to do this swap and buy a used motor. what all will swap over from my 4.3 brackets and pumps etc. will the starter and ac pumps power steering swap over?
i know i will need the harness, computer tuned for a v8, frame and motor mounts. what all else?
truck is a 99 nbs 2wd auto.

Yea i read that but it seemed to be more for a 6.0, also just read duckys thread but still not exactly clear on everything.
I guess i just need to purchase the motor and then go from there on what i dont have and will need
4.8,5.3,6.0 will all be same swap wise, if you are familiar with SBC's it's like 305 350 400

When you buy the motor. Make sure you hgave EVERYTHINGGGGG. I mean make sure the harness is still attatched as in everything. Make your life a lot easier

well im probably buying the one in the classifieds here. Just need to know what brackets and accessories ill need to have my power steering alt ac oil pump all that to work.
The sticky said i will need new fuel lines correct? or is that 6.0 related just wonder cause thats the first ive heard of that.
Also a/c how will i go about hooking it up will my ac compressor work just mount it on the new 5.3 bracket? same with alt?
Hardly any of it is the same. If you swapped in a Vortec 5.0 or 5.7 all of the front stuff would swap but since you chose the best route to swap to LS then all the stuff has to be changed.
ok well i dont plan to do the swap in a weekend i plan to get all the parts together before even attempting to do this.
ill post back here soon as i have another question so i can gather all my info.
If you have everything. It will only take a weekend. Its so simple. Looking back on my swap, woulda taken 3 days max with some as little expertise as myself and buddy with GENIII swaps, if we would of had everything. But I didnt, so I had to play cat and mouse trying to get parts
