The DMax costs a lot more to maintain properly and burns fuel that costs a lot more (although it gets better mileage the fuel cost is still higher than a 6.0). If you are pulling 3K+ more than 50% of the time you need a diesel, otherwise only get one if you REALLY want one AND can afford it. The 6-speed auto is only in the GMT900 body. Never heard of a 2500 with a 6.2 but I guess anything is possible.
