At the bottom, the SS Silvy has the LQ9 6.0 like normal, but look what the 3 asteriks stand for![]()
Will this be in the new SS short cab perhaps?

They need to do something in a preformance truck the SS is not a performance truck yet.
1999 Silverado 1500 Ext. cab Red 2/4 hotchkis drop & swaybars, bilstein stocks, AR626 & 404 Nitto's, Yank converter, ASM headers, ASP underdrive pulley, Taylor wires , free mods VCN 2000, Nelson Performance tuning

all they can muster is 345? The new L is going to be 500hp and 500tq with an optional 6 speed to compete with the Ram SRT-10 and its viper 6 speed.
91 s10 - bagged and bodydropped...getting rebuilt
91 nissan - backhalfed and bagged
I'm def. looking forward to that supercharged truck. It's a shame though they put a supercharger on the 6.0L and it still makes the the same HP numbers. We all know it will make more, it just sux they did that. Who know's though, it may just be bogus numbers.
If that is the HP rating, we all know it will make a lot more than advertised,
later,
allen

The 6.0 comes stock with 345HP, so if it's blown, it will probably be in the 450HP range, more I hope.
I dunno...we'll see.

But unless its in a standard cab, i still call it a waste.. no need to haul 600 or so lbs of AWD shit around, plus the ext cab portion.. "sport trucks" are to be fast, not high hp and weigh 3 tons

I have heard this is a typo. Seems strange to me that it would be so specific, but us folks over at SivleradoSS.com have heard from some inside sources that it is not going to happen in 04. So don't get your hopes up.
On the plus side, the current LQ9 6.0L does supercharge quite well with a Magnacharger
