    Stall and lockup questions

I have a Circle D 2500 Stall converter. I was told today that if I didnt have a shift kit my tranny would not hold enough pressure to keep the converter locked up. It dont think their right but I thought I would check.

Also would the tranny wiring be different from a 99 camaro to my 2000 silvy? Or the speed sensor wheel on the shaft?

Just trying to figure out the no lock up problem.

That is not true, a shiftkit is not required when a higher stall converter is installed.

Turn around and slowly walk away from this guy lol jk.

See if you can lock up the converter with a scanner.

Also, everytime the clutches slip and you rebuild the trans, be sure to have the converter flushed and all the lines.

A no lock up condition is either an electrical or mechanical issue. You can put a scanner on it to see if it is getting commanded to eliminate a tuning or computer issue. From there I would check the transmission for a mechanical issue, bad solenoid, stuck or damaged valve. It could be a converter issue, i.e. cut O-Ring or bad bonding of the lock up clutch. Not to sound like Circle D never has issues, but it is quite rare. The problem is typically a tuning/computer issue. The last thing I suggest to test is the actual wiring on the truck, I have seen a broken wire cause hours and hours of havoc.

Lockup worked fine one revious trans. So its either the tranny or the converter. but im betting on the trans wiring.

I say solenoid isn't working, from wiring issue or faulty part.
