    Rear main blew :(

Looks like the rear main is out on the silverado, which is about right since I hit a deer with my other car Satruday leaving me driving the truck daily again. Got oil on both sides, high enough that it doesnt appear to be the oil pan gasket and not high enough to be the intake, so Im guessing rear main.

Anyway there is no chance in you know where of me having the time to do it myself so its gotta go somewhere to get done, anyone have an idea of what a shop is gonna charge for it? I know it being 4wd there probably a bunch of crap in the way which adds to the cost.

Dude buy some beer and have a git together to change it at your house. There are some good guys running around there that would help out. That or see if Gas Guzzler would do it as a afternoon job.

It's a 2 hour or so drive over here. I'd certainly do it. Gotta pull the trans and transfer case but no biggie. I would also replace the rear cover gasket at the same time. Let me know.

    I know, I know.
Last oil change I noticed a bit of oil behind the oil filter. Popped the little bellhousing plug and it is wet inside.
Has to be the rear main. 35,000 miles and Moble 1 oil.
Does not leak bad enough to spot the driveway so it can wait.
Wait until the tranny needs work-----

Too early in the morning, I can not think of anything close to being clever . Sorry
