so what I am gathering here is that a good route to go is have it bored to a 5.7 and get an ls1 rotating assembly. And if i did this i could keep everything else the same for now or is there other thing that must be done to make this work? And thanks for the great help again.

You can use a 5.3 crank with ls1 pistons and rods you'll just have to have it all balanced together since the 5.3 and ls1 assemblies balance different. Its always a good idea to balance anyways

no problem! its good to see new people to, but i think this will be a great start you will get the what i would say "hardest" out of the way first and have alot more potential, let us know how it all goes!

You could get an eagle LS Rotating assembely for pretty cheap. either 3.66" or 4" stroke.

Thanks guys. i began breaking down the bottom end tonight(i had problems with the pulley) and i got all of the pistons out and i will begin cleaning the block tomorrow. Do you all have any advice for a first timer besides patience, i already have that?

If you haven't taken it apart yet. Go to a machine shop and grab a couple of piston boxes from them, theres 8 compartments in each box 5" wide, great for keeping everything sorted during the disassembley
