Thread: headers?

  1. #1
I am about to get true duals run on my truck and was considering a set ot shorty headers to go with it. I have heard many different views on them an was wondering if they actually are worth the money?

I don't have any but I keep hearing not to waste money on a set of shorties. Get mid length at a minimum. Long tubes if possible. OBS trucks are going to be tough to find long tubes to fit unless you can do some fab work to make them fit. Buy long tubes in raw tube since you will be welding on them anyway. S&P makes a set of mid-length G-body headers that will fit and they are a little over $400 raw and $500+ for plated.

    - stupid of course. The long tubes will provide a good bit of torque boost, the shorties arent much worth it from what I have heard.

Thorley makes a nice set of full lengths. I'd never own another set of the ASM ones, for $750 they suck.

The new Pacesetter ones are a bargain at $400, full length.

Most others are comical in the price or midlength

I think pacesetters are usually overlooked but they make some really good stuff as far as quality and performance wise. Thats what I would choose if I had room and didnt have traction problems.

By the way, hey X, I was sitting by the computer reading a post. Then my Boss walked by and almost freaked out when he saw your avatar, since this is a govt. computer Im not suposed to look at porn. Thats what he thought it was, but I think is the coolest avatar on the site IMO. Even if they are fake, as long as they are not on a man's body is cool.

They're Sydney Moon's is how ya spell her name I believe. I'm still considering switching to Stay Puft like I have everywhere else.

Last thing I need is someone getting in trouble due to my avatar!

i had shorties. two sets. then i went to asm's and man what a difference long tubes make. from the sound to the performance is a lot better. they are a little more money. hell i think pacesetters are around 400 and some change. they are working out well for a bunch of people.
