I'm in the same boat right now, I tow a heavy trailer and do a bit of mudding too. I've been looking at a cam but curious how it is without a stall. Does it still have good power down low?

yea really good power down low the highest i ever reach 2k rpm when i drive around down. it lugs the gears really well. then when im cruzing at 50 im at around 1500 rpms.
I have a 220/224 posted in the classifieds you might be interested in. It did great for me in my LQ4. I ran it with a 3000 PI converter and it was a very nicely matched combo. But might be a tad big if you tow like you stated and/or you want to keep your stock stall.
