    Got Trans In......Has Problems...Help anyone?

    So I got the trans in a few hours ago and it shifted fine on the lift. However it wants to slip going into 3rd gear. Its not locking up either but im sure thats cuz of the new stall. I footbraked it for a second and it went to 2500 and the immediatly went up to 5000. so Something is wrong there also. The I went was going to go home and i had then lost reverse. It has the beast and I wouldnt think it would have broken already. Ne ideas? Thanks

    werent you planning a trip?Did u do anythng to the tranny internally yourself?i wouldnt be worried about the lockup deal,mine didnt either.check you fluids.

    Sounds like the shell is broken because you lost reverse. Does it have any forward gears? If not, the pump is probably hashed....possibly didn't get the converter stabbed all the way?

    I have forward gears. I was thinkin the sunshell to, but i wouldnt have thought it would break that quick.

    Ramsey- I did not do anything to the trans a guy that builds trannys for us did it.

    I had him put in the pinless accumulators and on one of them instead of putting in the ball he welded the hole shut. could this be a problem. Doesnt fluid need to pass throgh that hole?

    I have reverse again this morning. I dont knopw about the 2 to 3 problem yet though

    Heres a pic of the hole he welded shut.

    Could the fact that it hasnt been tuned messed with it. I had pinless accumulators, corvette, billet 4ths servos, and circle d 2500 stall in. It also had a new transgo epc soleinod and supposudly a transgo shift kit in it when I got it.

    Ok, so you lost 2-3 shift? That could be worn out 3/4 clutch packs.

    The TC lock up issue could be in the tune...have it looked at.

    If no Reverse, then the sprag might be at fault.

    Having the bleed hole welded shut is kind of a no-no, because you might wanna reuse it later. A weld or have the check ball jammed in there is the same thing.

    The pinless accumulators are preferred.

    Also, once warmed up with the motor running, make sure you fluid is high enough.

    The forward sprag does not have an effect on reverse and there are no other sprags in a 60/65/70. If it has 4th it's not the 3/4 clutches as they are applied in 3rd and 4th (one element releases and the 2-4 band then again holds to shift it from 3rd to 4th). Sounds like valve body mods gone awry to me. A builder that would weld up a bleed hole in your application (MILD) is suspect to me.

    Im with ya gas,I think you should be looking into valve body issues.probly something to do with shiftkit install.or work done on it.the rest ,get your tune straightend out.If youre not used too a stall ittl play games on ya.

    its missing a check ball or the spacer plate is screwed
