I'm trying to figure out what a good first mod would be (other than the k&n cone filter i have already put on) and a Nelson tune seems to be the best bang for the buck? 375 for a reflash that seems to net about a second in the quarter, seems like a good deal to me but i'm in ny and nelson is in texas? Have guys had good luck with this? If i can get the truck to run low 15's or high 14's i'll be stoked just want a fun daily Plus i want to rid of TM

Welcome! A tune is ALWAYS a good mod. The mail order tune will be good for ya. There is nothing bad about it--you tell them what you want, they mail you a PCM, and you mail your stock one back.

TM can be removed, but put a Vette servo in the tranny. They are cheap and easy, like Garrisson's mom.

If you want a better shifting tranny--get a HD-2 shift kit from Trans-go...

2.3 60ft
10.2 eighth mile
15.8 quarter mile
86 mph

not tooo bad



Also put a 6.0 in the truck
