when I changed my cam i had no oil pressure when i started it ,it was the o ring on the oil pump ,famous if you pulled the pickup for any reason or timing gears /chain.replaced the o ring and since then ive been running 36-38 psi at idle .this motor was a brand new motor pulled from a o7 van ,and shouldnt have an oil issue but i can live with 36psi ,its fine as long as it raises when you throttle it.I know it should be more cus they sit around 40 usally. My esky sits at 40 since day 1 and thats got 160 k on it.a couple psi hasnt been worth tearing back down to me.O also ive boosted 15 psi on this same motor with 36/38 psi at idle.good luck ,i think youlle be fine if it stays that way in MY opinion. If it drops then start worrying.
