    Mid-west flood situation

So, any of you that watch the weather have probably seen what's happening up here in the Mid-west. Due to the Bipolar weather we've had this year the snow is melting VERY fast. The area I live in (Grand Forks) got hit with major flooding back in 1997. Looks like the same thing might happen again this year. Fargo ND is also not looking too good. They've already started evacuating. The Red River is expected to crest at 52 feet Monday or Tuesday in Grand Forks. One might want to call it Crest I, because Crest II likely will be on its way.
If you're interested in what's going on in my neck of the woods here's a link to the local paper online. Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, North Dakota
I'm probably going to have a long few weeks ahead of me once we formally get called up to help in the Prep/relief/evac actions. FEMA is already staging out of our Base.
    Just thought I'd share

good luck down there! We are preparing up here for the flood as well. We are expecting the Red River to crest about mid April but we're already having some issues.

i didnt think you were that close to me, i'm down in Grand Forks all the time, we should do coffee or a beer sometime!

Thanks for all the well wishes fellas. My base is about 20 miles away from town so we're safe. They don't expect Grand Forks to get too bad though. They say the flood walls are good to 60 feet or so. Some houses however are already taking on water.

    Justin-
I'll lean more towards the beer, but I like coffee every now and then. It's getting real bad down in Fargo. The Red's at 40.81 feet right now. A 112 year record high for that area. I'll probably be pretty busy for the next few weeks but the next time you come down shoot me a PM and I'll try to make it into town.
