Hi there. I'm relatively new to the whole LS1 thing. My plan is to put a 2000 5.3L and 4L60e into a jeep. I guess my biggest question is the fuel system. If I put a stock fuel pump in my tank will I still need a regulator?

Also what should one of these engines go for - I can get one with tranny, wiring harness, and programmed computer for $2400. I think it's a good deal but not real sure.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Welcome aboard!

The truck intakes have a regulator on them already, unless you get a on '04 engine, so you're good to go.
Check out hiway auto, list above as a sponsor. They have great deals on 4.8/5.3L's and the have a ton of them. If you're interested, I can tune your pcm for you.

    good luck,

    allen

That's a reasonable price for the entire thing, depending on the mileage, and condition. I'm putting a 2004 6.0 into my Wrangler and it cost me that for the engine/tranny w/29,000 miles on it. ~LeeV

Welcome to LS1truck! Good to hear you have already found what you are looking for! We have a few other members who are doing LS1 swaps into Jeeps. Review the Newbie section and see if you can find the other guys who are doing it. Try and communicate with them and share ideas, hints... Hopefully if you Jeep swap guys get enough solid info, you can post a Sticky about an LS1 swap into Jeeps!

I'm in the middle of putting a 5.3 into my 2001 TJ. I'm looking for some wiring help. I've been looking at lt1swap.com for some info, but can't get my head around it. I'm trying to find the one person that has done it and has the info ready. This wire goes here! Not out there yet. Here's a link to pics of my progress. 2001 Jeep TJ. Hope to have it complete by the end of April.
