    weird question about stall converter

I was talking to a friend about going ahead and putting a 3k stall converter in my truck before i did LT's and cam. He said if i did this, the truck would feel slower than it did before the stall but i would still be going faster than before it just wouldn't seem like it. Didn't make much sense to me as i would think you would feel like you are quicker as its in the rpm's better, but he said without having the extra power from the LT's and cam it wouldn't feel as strong hence why it would "feel" slower. Make sense?

It would feel quicker. I did my stall with only long tubes before my cam and dropped atleast half a second in the 1/4.

dude no disrespect to your buddy but he doesnt know what hes talking about ,he needs to quit giving you advise, putting a 3k stall in your truck would be the best thing you have ever done.Picture this its like a standard tranny but it is an automatic, you always want to come out of the gate where the motor would be making power so go ahead put it in and have fun

I think I may know what the guy was tryn to say. Around town normal driving the truck may feel like it doesnt put down the power it should down because of the slippage of the converter, Its actually is a little more manageable daily driving once you start pushing a little more power. When you hit the gas though look out! Its well worth the money and I say do it also.
