Alright, after lots of shit talking between the 2 of us, we finally did a short race on the streets awhile ago.
Btw, he has an '03 GT...stock....yea...its pretty gay
I have an '01 Sierra with 3.73s and an open differential (at the time). Also stock except for intake, muffler and HPP3 tuning.
Basically, he smoked me, he likes to think because he has a "Stang" but I know its because of my open diff and the fact that i did a one wheel peel forever, never hooking up until he was gone. He hooked up really well, btw.
To this day he talks shit.
My only defense is that he should be RELIEVED that he beat me, not happy.
Now, I KNOW my truck is faster and the reason is because of the gay open diff I had and the shit tires that dont hook up.
My buddy MacADaYear has raced plenty of new GT's and while he didn't smoke em, he did win. He has an open diff (which hooks and smokes both tires...we still dont know why, but thats another thread topic) and 3.42s.

Ok, now I got an Eaton LSD and 4.10s. I'm gettin some good tires and will let some air out next time I run my bitch ass friend.
I should smoke my friend now shouldn't I? I mean, I've been biting my tongue when he talks shit because I wanna surprise him.
Ok, done venting. I'll post what happens, that bitch is going down...

depends, its hard to tell, he might know how to drive his car, plus the new gt's run 14.3-14.6 here, stock.

Good luck on the race, but TM is truely killin you.

What kind of times are you running on the track?

I know my take off sux on the street with my 4.10's and posi, but i do have shit tires, really they are shit, my dunlops will be installed today, yeha

like domes said, they run mid 14's here , but street racing is a whole new ball game, if you don't get traction you'll loose,

keep us updated, i'd like to know how you do, go kick his ass,

Realy? Damn, what do the new cobras run then?
I don't dare race those guys. I know not to....
The GTs on the other hand....damn...I wonder how MacADaYear beat them then? He's got 4.8 with 3.42s though. I've been in his truck when he beats him so I know he's not lying...
hmmm....yea, I need to get rid of TM....I'll do so when I get a shift kit.

Well, I'm embarrassed to say I ran a 16.5 at the track. But like I said, no traction. One time I even slowly pushed the gas so I wouldn't burn, but I got about the same time.
I dunno, I think I can smoke him. I'll let you guys know.
Later...

B/c they probably dont know how to drive the car or its an auto.. The new cobra's, well ppl run low 13's, stock.. but here a guy ran 12.2 stock, but it was in november, round 60 degrees, no humidty. Also the IRS (independant rear suspension) is a bitch to launch on.

just becuase you pulled a 16 in the 1/4 doesn't mean you are slower on the street, even with my shit farm tires i had, i could beat 13.3 camaros pretty bad just because they spin more than i do on the street, and plus that crazy ass z71 parish has runs 11's , he beats 10sec cars on the street cause he gets traction,

it's all going to depend on traction, and if he has an auto, even if you don't beat him, he's not going to shrug you off, and he's def. going to have to get on it to stay ahead, if he does stay ahead.

good luck,
