    Considering LS1 swap

    I was just doing some think ing today and was considering swapping in an LS1 when my 5.3 dies. I would consider something like the 6.0 but I would really like to keep my 4L60E and figured I could get just as much power that the 60 would handle with a little better gas mileage than the 6.0. I know I could get the power out of the 5.3 but I'd like some change.

    I'm not sure if its possible to bore/stroke a 5.3 to 5.7, if so I would consider that as well if the LS1 doesn't have huge advantages over that options.

    Just wanted to get some people's opinions on the subject.

    you can bore the 5.3 out to a 383 i believe

    You can have a 5.7 just by boring the block to fit stock LS1 pistons size 3.898" and use your stock crank.

    5.3, E-fans, LPP longtubes w/offroad Y, Dual Magnaflow, K&N Cold Air, 160 thermo, Voodoo 212/218 .531/.531 113 cam, Nelson Tune, 4:11, Built 4L65E, TrailBlazer converter. SOLD

    Just buy an LS1. The swap isnt hard at all. Id keep your truck intake as well especially with that lifted setup. The engines are becoming cheaper by the day anyways and youll spend way more boring it out. I would have bought one when I was looking around but there weren't any available! I would def. upgrade your transmission when doing this as well. That 60e is going to hate you

    I think I am going to get the ls1 myself. I have 22 inch wheels that a guy wants for an ls1. Im considering emailing him now..
    5.3, small cam, 918 springs, 7.4 rods, walboro pump, Full built 4l60, 2800-3000 stall, TB spacer, long tubes, cat delete, single 3" exhaust with Aero bullit muffler. Flaco tuned.
