Gonna do plugs and wires in the next couple days and every thing i've read about these trucks seems people like these plugs. At least on the forums i get on. I went to advanced and picked up 8 tr55's and the guy there tryed to tell me they are wrong for my truck. I got em anyway. So was he just full of it? My truck is an 04 sierra 5.3 with 116,000.
I called a friend to see what he ran, and he told me to run those plugs. he uses them on his Camero's. He has had a lot of them, works and races them..
5.3, small cam, 918 springs, 7.4 rods, walboro pump, Full built 4l60, 2800-3000 stall, TB spacer, long tubes, cat delete, single 3" exhaust with Aero bullit muffler. Flaco tuned.
i ran the tr55 for a long time... i have an 02 with the 5.3
i dont see why they would be the wrong ones....
unless the "right ones" were the plugs that cost 8 bucks a piece

While i'm at it what should i gap these things at.
gap should be pretty close out of the box but i'd still check them and readjust to .060" if necessary

They're "wrong" because these engines may not be an application NGK spec'd when they put them out. They work good from what people tell me. I have the ACD iridium updates (ACD # 41-985) and they're the widely accepted just as good replacement. Yes, Alan may be right. They're probably $8 each retail at the dealer. No, I didn't use the ACD's because of my discount...I bought a set of eBay that were shipped from Canada for less per plug by about $0.40 than GM DEALER COST. Check them out too....
I gap mine around .35, i have a tuned lq9
The guy at advanced told me to gap em at .040 but i just wanted to make sure.
gaped mine at .050 on the 4.8 with cam and tune
