Yeah, the best way to do it is to put the servo back in piece by piece...if the tranny is in the truck and you didn't lower it. The c-clip can be a pain getting back in--I have always used a pair of angled tip needle nose pliers. But a small slot head screwdriver also works pretty well...
We did take the heat shield off, but his was more of a pain than mine for some reason.
