    Parts for trans?

I don't have the money for and FLT nor will I for a long long time due to going back to school. I don't pound on the truck hardly ever, but of course I need to see what it'll do with the new cam, Lt's, etc. I have the vette 2-4 servo in it and I know it won't save it, so what other "little" things can I do to help prolong it's life? I was thinking transgo hd-2 and a deeper pan (+2 quarts over stock). The truck is at 146k, but the trans guy said this one looks pretty new, since there is no wear on the parts they could see during the fluid change. Thanks.

If you wanted a legit shift kit Id go Zippy
    Home

Then Go Ahead and get a trans Cooler and a decent sized stall. 2800-3000

You could do a clutch and band upgrade from Zippy as well.
Try Oregon Performance Transmission as well and check out the parts they have. A Deeper pan is also a nice upgrade.

I'd do a Transgo HD2, deep pan & trans cooler. Those work well since the main cause of failure is excessive heat.

Moze I pm'd you back, and the truck has a factory trans cooler becuase of the towing package, but it's a dinky little thing, so I found one that's nice and big, but how do they connect? The stock one has the npt ends on it with the clips, and the big ones have hose with them...do you just put the hose over the ends and connect the two with clamps? Thanks for the input guys, after the exhaust and hopefully that tci pan I'll get the shift kit.

Just wondering, I won't need a retune after the tranny parts go in right? The line pressure was left to stock, so I don't know what would have to be changed, but I also know nothing about tuning

If you don't have wacked out trans parameters in your current tune and that's all you're doing it shouldn't be that bad.

The cooler can be mounted in front or behind the radiator. Mine was placed in front. The reason for this is the air that is going through your grille is hitting the cooler. Some say they put it behind because the fan is always spinning pulling air to the area. Up to you. I still havent figured out how to post pics here.
