    from the stock cam or the one i plan on using? i plan on pulling the cam by weds.

    The Comp cam. We know the diameter of your stock cam (39.4mm). LS-series engines are good for about 0.5" valve lift for the cam to fit through the cam journals. Any higher lift and the base circle needs to be smaller for it to fit. If the base circle is not too much smaller (like the Z06 cams), you can get away with the stock pushrods w/o losing too much lifter preload.
