    exhaust and cam

    Yea i did write that wrong, i haven't really decided if i want to do a y pipe with a flowie or an x pipe with two flowies. The x pipe can be tough on the 4x4s, my fab guy can get it done for me though? As far as the cam goes any help would be great, i used camquest to select that cam?? I just want a loppy idle and a good came for forced induction. Yea i've seen pics of that rx7 conversion and its sick! I like all makes but i also like my drag cars to be different and not something you see every day. I bought the coupe as a street/weekend warrior and it had a 306 with a small vortech, just didn't cut for me. I've had almost every form of a dsm there is including: 3 galant vr-4's, 2 turbo colts, 4 1st gens and one second gen, but one thing they all had in common was weak drivetrain!! I don't think i'll have that problem any more though with a built 8.8 and the ati th350, i'll probally have a problem keeping the front wheels on the ground though. What do you guys use to re-size your pics?

    If you want a S/C, you are not going to want a lopey cam. You are gunna want to go with a GT2-3 cam for FI.

    I use Photoshop to resize my photos. Can you not resize them on ImageShack or PhotoBucket?

    A 306 and a vortech wasn't enough for the LX coupe? Wow...

    By the way picked up some goodies last night! Got a full set of 07 tahoe polished 5 spoke wheels, white painted grill, led signal mirrors, nicer tailgate with the facory step, a Air rid cold air intake and a new Factory GM bedliner!! Its good to have family in the repo business lol. I get my magnacharger on thursday, its an older kit but for $200 i couldn't pass it up. How much boost can i run before and after the trans build with good tuning?

    The tranny is going to blow. Its more of a matter of time even without anything done to it. You could MAYBE run 6 or 7 psi without the cam and you MAY be able to drive it awhile. Call FLT and get a lev 5 and push it as hard as you want. I agree with tyler though the gt2-3 is the bar as far as a FI cam goes. Anything better you will need to get it custom. Allen Nealson will do that for you pretty cheap. As far as your exhaust. I would run either a single Magnaflow or do DUAL flowmasters after the xpipe. They would flow about the same either way. If you are SET on flowmasters seriously use the x pipe Idea.

    Sweet man! Those should go well for the truck!

    Well, the Magnacharger...what all came with it? Intercooler? All wiring? Fuel pump? Intercooler lines? Fuel injectors?

    Just so you know.. were talking the old magnacharger kit made for the 99-01 LS based trucks. May be there firt LS based Supercharger? You know the one that mounts on the passenger side of the intake manifold and valve cover. Its a complete kit minus the ECU, flash etc. I don't see why it wouldn't bolt up to the newer truck block though? Hopefully it mounts ok, i might have to extend the egr valve and throttle body wires, not a biggie. My brother has a good friend with HP tuners software that is gonna tune it for me. the guy is a wiz at tunning ls/lt1 motors. Later on after the trans build i can ad an air to air intercooler setup and bump up the boost. Its a 5psi kit which will probally make 3.5-4 psi here. I just did a comptech supercharger install on a 06 Acura TL (which is the same magancharger based head unit my kit comes with) and the 5psi pulley set up only made 3.5psi, had to go with the high boost pulley (7-8psi) to get it up to 5psi. Our thin air is a pain in the ass lol. As far as the fuel system goes i will do the pump and injector install. Any thing else you can think of? What size injectors should i go with?

    I don't see why it wouldn't work...

    But you will definitely need the intercooler. Those older Maggies had high IATs.

    I would go with at least 36 lb injectors for now. Or just go ahead and get some 42 lb injectors now because of the possibility of you going with more boost in the future...

    You also need to check about getting some gauges to measure boost and your A/F. I would recommend getting an Aeroforce and an Autometer C2 wideband. You can mount those on the a-pillar in a gauge pod.

    Yea I've got those already, bought a triple pod with AEM wideband, autometer boost and autometer fuel pressure. I'll do a front mount air to air then, call up my fab guy and see what he is going to rob me for lol.
