    Factory locker rearend?

I blew up my rear end last night in the Silvy and want to upgrade to a posi or locker unit. What 1/2 ton trucks came factory with the G80 lock or whatever it is called? Will it swap into a factory open rear? If not what are some recommendations for a good aftermarket setup?

Also did chevy make an aluminum driveshaft for a 4x4 RCSB truck? part number?
    Thanks, TY

Do not a factory locker unit, G80 (Grenade 80)!! You are better off with a Detriot Tru Trac or something similar. (Eaton, Auburn...) I think they run around $400.

2004 Silverado Crew Cab, forged iron 5.7, STS w/MP turbo, 10+ psi, FMIC, Tial 50mm BOV, Vic Jr, Snow performance meth, MTI Stealth cam .220/.220 .581/.581 115lsa, Comp chromoly pushrods, Yank TT3000 stall, LS1 Efans, 160 tstat, Trucool 40k trans cooler, 60# injectors, Walbro fuel pump, Patriot springs, Built 4l65E w/billet input & output shafts, Eaton posi, SD tuned...all installed by Klein North Automotive

G80 is GM's reference code to the limited slip differential they use in various vehicles.
G86 is GM's reference code for the posi unit

with that being said the Gov-lok works very well for what it was intended for, once you go beating on it it does have its flaws but agan it wasnt meant for somethings majority of us are using it for

i still run a G80 in my turbo truck and havent had issues, my G80 in my NA truck held well......dont go beating on the rear and it will last for long time

as for question, it should swap into an open

    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
